Immovable (2016)

“Immovable” is a dance film directed by Jason Andrew and choreographed by Julia K. Gleich. Film portrays two women battling on and off pointe with great effort to both support and unbalance each other. Underlying the ballet is the voice of Donald Trump and a pile driver. Gestures simulate champion male stonelifters. The women attempt to take up space and experience weight in a clash with their own sense of existing in the world. Pointe work is both a limitation and a strength, a symbol and a tool.
